890 people recover from covid in the state; 404 in Bengaluru: Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar
20,000 RT-PCR tests done in a single day
Bengaluru – July 11 2020: 20,000 RT-PCR tests were done in Bengaluru today, Medical Education Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar said addressing a press conference on Saturday.
Speaking to media after his official visit to Chikkaballapur Minister said that 2798 covid cases were repoted in the state on Saturday till 5 PM. 890 people were discharged from hospitals today in the state and 404 recovered in Bengaluru. 70 deaths were reported in the state out of which 28 were in Bengaluru, Minister said.
Minister appeled for community participation
Quoting the story of humble squirrel in Ramayana, minister said that any small service in this fight against pandemic is a great service. He thanked all corona warriors for their selfless service and assured that safety equipment will be provided to all fronline warriors including pourakarmikas. Citing the example of Tuberculosis which takes 2 lives in every 3 minutes Ministse said there is no need to panic ao much about corona.
Answering the question about lockdown ministwe said that all 8 ministers and experts have suggested lockdown and CM will take a final decision soon.
Reacting on congress’ accusation on the government about the irregularities in the utilization of funds in covid management minister said that this is not the time to do politics when the pandemic situation is so serious.
