Government is considering water sharing with Andhra Pradesh to mitigate water scarcity in bordering areas of Chikkaballapur – Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar
Chikkaballapur, August 7, Firday: Government is considering water sharing with Andhra Pradesh to mitigate the scarcity of water in Gowribidanur taluk says district in-charge Minister Dr.K.Sudhakar. He was speaking in a function organised by town municipality here in Gowribidanur. Drinking water is the main problem in this taluk and we are planning to get 10-15 TMC water from Andhra Pradesh which can be given back to them from other parts of the state. One round of discussion has been done with Water resource Minister regarding this and will be implemented soon, the Minister said.
Earlier in the day the Minister initiated various developmental works under Nagaroththana project worth Rs.7.29 Crore. in the town. Also the Minister distributed cheques of Rs. 5,000 each to beneficiaries under Medical assistance scheme. He also distributed possession certificates to beneficiaries of Ashraya scheme and Identity cards to street vendors.
Speaking on the occasion Dr.Sudhakar said that our government is committed for development of Chikkaballapur. A request has been made to the Chief Minister to include Chikkaballapur in tier-2 cities which will provide many discounts for industries. Our aim is to establish industries at every taluks in the district, he said. We are committed to implement Yettinahole project Minister added. He also said that the tourist places like Vidurashwatha will be developed to attract more tourists. MLA Shivashankara Reddy, Zilla Panchayat President Chikkanarasimhaiah, former MLA Jyoti Reddy, DC and other officials were present.
Responding to the media, the Minister said, 17 districts are under heavy rain since few days. Chief Minister is constantly monitoring the situation and ensuring that relief measures are taken. Though admitted in the hospital, CM is giving all necessary instructions to the Ministers and officials to control the situation. Affected people have been shifted to safe places. Our government is effectively tackling the flood situation. Dr.Sudhakar said.
